Day 1   2 comments

Dear Reader,

Let me introduce briefly the idea behind this little project.

You’re probably familiar with the 21-day habit formation rule? Apparently, it takes 3 weeks of intentional repetition to create a new habit. For the next 21 days I’m going to work on my relationship with food and my body image while focusing on the most important relationship in my life – with God.

This journey in self-discovery and self-control is inspired by a great book by Lysa TerKeurst, Made to Crave. The subtitle explains very well what our focus in life should be: Satisfying your deepest desire with God, not food.

I read the book back in spring and have worked with it, and found it immensely helpful. However, I did not really finish reading it or working with it, and now feel I need to get back and do it ‘properly’. Since I’m quite familiar with it, I’m going to speed up this time and read one chapter a day. I’ll be journaling my reflections here.

Hopefully, by the time this 21-day journey ends, I’ll have formed a habit of ┬árunning to God, not to food, for comfort.
